Wilma talks about Father Jason’s recent visit:

We were sorry when the two months for Rev Fr Jason Micheni of Meru County Kenya came to a close on December 31st. It was a pleasure to greet him and for him to be able to personally thank people for their ongoing support for the poor children and orphans. On November 26th he spoke to this congregation about the Milking Cow and Goat Project activities that he implements for us. He joined us as often as possible including the 11.30 pm service at Christmas, morning worship & cuppa and the Christmas feast. On his last morning in Australia, he attended worship with us and Rev Margaret Blair wished him well. He felt all of this was ‘wonderful’ and appreciated our hospitality. Many of this congregation have contributed to the milking goats, banana plantations, bags of seed for food crops and a cow named Joy for children’s milk, projects. This is helping to improve the lives of very needy people. The goodwill program was busy travelling long distances to speak to groups in November and December. Everywhere we went Fr Jason was a welcome guest. He also celebrated Mass at St Brigid’s and stayed at Tarrawarra for two days; those congregations are hoping he will come back one day. All around Fr Jason made many friends. In December there was more free time to join in activities including playing Table Tennis with a gang of men and Jet Skiing on Lake Eildon. He left our community on December 31st and needless to say he wishes he could come back here again. A special thanks to our Minister Jennie, the Church Council and the entire congregation for their genuine friendship and support for the special work Fr Jason does in Kenya.
