The young members of our Church used their worship time on a Sunday in March 2019 cooking pancakes for the congregation to have with their morning tea after the service.  The pancakes were served with strawberries, cream and ice-cream and the youth collected $136.50

Pancake Day is an annual fundraising event and Uniting Vic.Tas uses the money raised for programs and services that are there to help people when they need it most. This is for some of the most vulnerable and marginalised people in our communities. These funds enable emergency relief for families facing food crisis, support homeless people find permanent accommodation; help people with disability find work,  support older people live independently in their own home, etc.

Since 2002, Pancake Day has raised over $2 million for local communities across Victoria and Tasmania.

Pancakes were traditionally cooked because they are a way to use up rich foods such as eggs, milk, and sugar, before the fasting season of the 40 days of Lent.

The below photos show the youth cooking and then serving the pancakes for all to enjoy.
